Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland before the international break, but will the English top division frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

Sutton is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a range of special visitors.

For the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Experiences

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other evening for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I think what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.

A family member advised me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

They have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not seen anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering Fulham's home form, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's choice: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
