Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and white children oppressors.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, the politician expressed his viewpoint on British schools, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike soon after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by about 10 points, has not set out much detail on its educational plans and seems not to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, Farage’s remarks suggested the group would reform the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We have got a massive job with schooling – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it will take us years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to educate individuals that there are two points of view and they should decide for themselves as opposed to current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after the union leader labeled them “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and maintained that the organization seeks to brainwash youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in 2023 caused widespread disruption in educational institutions and millions of days of lost learning for children.

During the American gathering, Farage also vowed to promote the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I am serious. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to your online courses. I make that commitment now and I will follow through.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of civil and religious liberty. It offers these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
